the packaging machinery has been used for a long time, especially under the condition of continuous work and overload, it is prone to some electrical and mechanical faults, such as loose sealing, machine stop and go, fuse blown when starting, “squeaking” during operation, uncontrollable temperature, deformation and bending of finished bags at the seal, bubbles or irregular marks at the seal imprint, etc. Combined with practical experience, this paper analyzes the causes of several faults, puts forward corresponding solutions, and expounds the maintenance of continuous sealing machine, hoping to be helpful to enterprises and individuals using continuous sealing machine

1. Poor sealing

poor sealing is one of the common faults of continuous sealing machine. Poor sealing has three meanings: ① the sealing part of packaging bag cannot be sealed; ② Under the pressure of the sealing knife, although the bag mouth is sealed, it will crack again if it is squeezed or torn with a little force; ③ When the peeling test is carried out on the sealing part, half of the sealing is firm and half is separated. The sealing quality of such packaging bag is still unqualified, because the contents are easy to leak out after extrusion during storage and transportation. This situation often occurs when the composite lining is OPP and blow molded PE

the causes of the first type of fault are mainly the following

(1) the heat sealing temperature is not enough

generally, when the total thickness of the composite bag with OPP as the lining is 80 ~ 90 μ M, the heat sealing temperature should reach 170 ~ 180 ℃; The total thickness of composite bags with PE as lining is 85 ~ 100 μ M, the temperature should be controlled at 180 ~ 200 ℃. As long as the total thickness of bag making increases, the heat sealing temperature must be increased accordingly

(2) the heat sealing speed is too fast

the sealing failure is also related to the speed of the sealing machine. If the speed is too fast, the sealing part is transferred to the cold pressing part for cooling treatment by the traction roller before it has time to heat up, which naturally fails to meet the quality requirements of heat sealing (3) cold pressing rubber wheel is not suitable. The

cold pressing rubber wheel has one upper and lower one, the pressure between them should be moderate. Br>
(4) there is a problem with the quality of heat sealing film

the failure of sealing is also related to the quality of heat sealing film. If the corona treatment of composite lining is uneven and the effect is not good, and it happens to appear at the sealing place, it must not be sealed. This is rare, but once it occurs, the product is bound to be scrapped. Therefore, in the color printing and packaging industry, it is the next process to supervise the previous process. Once a quality problem is found, the cause must be analyzed and solved in time

in short, to solve the first problem of poor sealing, generally increase the heat sealing temperature, reduce the heat sealing speed, and increase the pressure of the cold pressed rubber wheel

the main reasons for the second kind of failure are as follows

(1) insufficient heat sealing temperature

the problem can be solved by appropriately increasing the heat sealing temperature

(2) the cutting surface of the heat sealing knife is not flat enough

the heat sealing knife is divided into upper and lower pieces, which are usually installed with a thermocouple to sense the transmission of temperature. There are three screws on the heat sealing knife. The middle screw plays the role of supporting and reinforcing the blade. The other two screws are equipped with pressure springs and gaskets, which are mainly used to adjust the pressure of the heat sealing knife. The upper and lower blades have two springs respectively. The main reason for the unevenness of the cutting surface of the heat sealing tool is that the middle screw is installed obliquely, not horizontally; Or the pressure of the pressure spring of the upper heat sealing knife is uneven

the solution is to recalibrate the position of the intermediate screw to make it horizontal. If the upper and lower heat sealing knives are unbalanced, it should be realized by adjusting the pressure spring to a moderate level. When the spring retreats outward, the heat sealing knife will fall downward; When the spring of the lower blade is tightened upward, the heat sealing knife will move upward

(3) uneven pressure of cold pressed rubber wheel

uneven pressure of cold pressed rubber wheel will also cause this kind of loose sealing fault. The solution is similar to that in the first case

(1) uneven pressure of heat sealing knife or cold pressing knife

(2) the cutting surface of the heat sealing knife is not flat enough

2. Fuse blown

to eliminate this fault, first check whether the power supply is normal, then cut off the power supply, measure whether the switch is damaged with the resistance gear, and carefully check whether the circuit and motor are short circuited. Usually, when the motor is short circuited, the winding is burned or broken, the fuse will blow as soon as the sealing machine is started. Another reason for this fault is that the fuse specification is too small. The problem can be solved by increasing its specification accordingly

3. The “squeak” sound occurs during operation

the fault occurs during the operation of the sealing machine. The “squeak” sound often occurs suddenly, followed by uneven sealing speed, resulting in poor lines at the sealing embossing of the packaging bag and affecting the appearance quality of the product. Occasionally, it works normally, but it is capricious

this phenomenon is mostly due to mechanical damage or severe wear and poor lubrication

in addition, if the joint of the high-temperature belt is loose, seriously worn, unclean and dirty on the surface, it will not be synchronized with the traction wheel during operation, and sometimes make a “squeak” sound. The solution is to replace the high-temperature belt of the same specification

there are some skills in changing the high temperature. First, compress the pressure wheel spring by hand, and then place one end of the high-temperature belt on the rubber wheel, and the other end is held by hand against the other rubber wheel. Set the governor to low speed. As soon as it is started, the high-temperature belt will be installed automatically by moving inertia

sometimes the “squeak” sound is also emitted by the DC shunt motor. It may be caused by the lack of oil in the motor bearing. If this is the case, it should be removed and lubricated with lubricating oil, and the sound can be eliminated

4. The sealing temperature is out of control

the fault is that the thermometer display fails, the temperatu
re cannot be controlled, the heat sealing temperature is not constant, the sealing part is either scorched, or the sealing is not firm, and the sealing is deformed, which is very ugly

the main reason for this fault is that the thermometer is broken and must be repaired; In addition, the thermocouple may also be broken and cannot normally transmit the induced temperature to the thermometer. Replace it with a thermocouple of the same model and specification

the mechanical reason is that the heat sealing pressure is uneven. Just adjust the pressure spring of the heat sealing knife to make its pressure consistent. At the same time, the pressure contact surface of the heat sealing knife shall be kept clean and free of dirt

another reason is that the heat sealing quality of the composite material itself is poor, and the heat sealing coefficient changes, resulting in inconsistent temperature

5. During production, we have encountered the faults of stop and go and inconsistent speed of the sealing machine. When we disassembled the panel on the back of the sealing machine, we found that the connection between the shaft rod of the motor and the gearbox had fallen off and loosened. Retighten the screws to make them all fit, and the problem is solved. In addition, the main motor operates by contacting the carbon brush. If the carbon brush is seriously worn, does not fully contact with the slip ring, or has poor friction, it will also cause the running and stopping of the sealing machine. The problem can be solved by replacing a new carbon brush of the same model

6. Bubbles and irregular marks appear at the seal

this fault is also common. Although it will not cause leakage of packaging, it will affect the beauty of packaging and damage the image of goods

there are two main reasons for this failure

(1) the equipment has been used for a long time, and dirt such as dust and plastic chips are attached to the high-temperature belt, resulting in unsmooth and uneven high-temperature belt, uneven heating of the seal, and bubbles appear after being pressed by the cold pressing wheel. The fault can be eliminated by cleaning or replacing the high temperature belt again. The high temperature zone is generally 1.5cm wide and about 22 thick μ m. If you can’t wash off the dirt after sticking it, you have to scrap it

(2) there are irregular concave convex marks on the cold pressing rubber wheel, which are directly reflected on the package, resulting in more obvious marks at the seal. In order to ensure the beautiful forming of the packaging bag, replace the cold pressing rubber wheel

7. Problems needing attention in equipment maintenance

(1) place the sealing machine in a ventilated and dry place, and generally maintain the room temperature at about 25 ℃
(2) every 48 hours of operation, 6 engine oil should be added to all moving parts, mainly at gears, bearings and gearboxes
(3) dust shall be removed regularly to keep the whole machine clean. Unplug the power supply when not in use and cover it with a cover cloth
(4) if the operation time is too long, turn on the cooling fan before shutdown and turn it off after the temperature drops, because the high-temperature belt is easy to be damaged if it is shut down without cooling
(5) dirt shall be removed from the high-temperature belt regularly to ensure the sealing quality
(6) severely worn parts should be replaced in time to prolong the service life of the whole machine.
